I've read a multitude of project management books that talked about specific processes and practices that you need to execute. This is the first book that I've read that deals with the softer skills of management and leadership, and I found it to be very refreshing.This book focuses on the true essence of project management, which is empowering a group of individuals to work together to accomplish a goal in unison. Most ideas and suggestions in here simply come across as common sense. Nothing in this book is tied to any dated technique or methodology. Each chapter also has a great little summary to review and reinforce the material.
This book raises many thought provoking questions about challenging situations which many of us have been exposed to in this area. Lots of food for thought for both budding and experienced project managers!

I am only half way through this book and I can already see the change. I have started using it for some existing projects and I plan to use it for all new projects I have coming up. It is really practical and at the same time very motivational. Some of my colleagues have already called dibs on it for when I've finished it but I have a feeling I'll be using it on an ongoing basis. Collaborative Project Management is the way to go!
